We hope that you were able to make it to the March for Women's Lives this past Sunday. It was a wonderful day, the atmosphere could not have been more positive and almost everyone left with a recharged dedication to protecting the right to choose. If you weren't able to make the event, we put some pictures on our website to provide an idea of what the day was like:

2). This Thursday's Forum!

We hope to see you at this Thursday's forum in Huntington. The event will be a key part of our work to pass a resolution in Suffolk County that defends the Bill of Rights from the unconstitutional provisions in the PATRIOT Act and related legislation. It is important to know that not all of the PATRIOT Act should be revoked; the legislation contains a number of provisions that are quite important. But other regulations are counterproductive and dramatically curtail the Constitutional protections of due process, free association, and the separation of powers.

Local resolutions are the key to restating the truth of democracy -- that we are a strong people because we are a free people. Please come join us this Thursday to learn more about the PATRIOT Act and together we will add Suffolk County to the hundreds of communities and four states that have passed resolutions (including El Paso, TX and Pittsburgh, PA in the past twenty-four hours!).
